Our U11’s, U13’s and U15’s netball team’s put on an outstanding show of netball in the 3rd Swiss Matchplay last Sunday! There was some fantastic netball played and the girls did themselves proud.
This tournament was another great opportunity for our younger players to get on court and experience some competitive netball. The U11 team which included 2 LCV players, went from strength to strength as the matches progressed. We saw our new players, Anna and Aimee blossom and shine as they got to grips with new positions. Sarah and Esmé proved themselves valuable assets as they switched roles from mid-court to shooting. Freya did a great job as Captain for the day and worked hard in her GK position. These girls are all promising netball players, it’s exciting as a club to watch them grow and develop with us!
Many many congratulations to our U13 ‘Dream Team’ captained by Mia, who performed her role with maturity, a positive attitude and great organisation. Ruby and Mia did a wonderful job as our shooters, they worked the ball nicely around the circle, held their space well and got some wonderful shots in. It was great to see the girls using the skills we have been developing in practices. The girls really utilised their height and strengths and dominated the play in the attacking third. Ellie, Alice and Andrea worked tirelessly in the centre court. There were some great interceptions and turnovers which we were able to capitalise on. Our defenders, Lindsey and Julia did a sterling job, really moving their game on and displaying some fantastic blocking of their opponents off the ball, Julia was superb as GD, very well-done Julia. Lindsey was also delighted to discover she loves shooting! This team played four matches and won every match. Magnificent results, every one of the girls, Coaches and Umpires were delighted with their performance. They certainly deserved the praise and recognition that they received from the whole Swiss Netball community that watched them play.
The U15’s, Catherine, Romie, Alexia and Laetitia played in a scratch team with 3 LCV players. At this level, we are always going to be faced with stiff opposition. However, the girls are becoming more confident in their abilities and really do play and hold their own against their opponents. Romie, worked tirelessly and determinedly as Centre, her athletic ability and prowess being tested to the full. Catherine, GK, is a match for any GS in the circle, understanding the principles of defence and performing the role with fortitude. Our shooters, Alexia and Laetitia struggled to get close to the post against strong defenders but still got some fantastic shots in. Well done to them for their endeavour. We were very happy with the girls performance on Sunday, they worked really hard. The should be congratulated on their ability to play as part of a scratch team and still hold their own.

Nos équipes de netball des U11, U13 et U15 ont présenté un net show de netball au 3ème Swiss Matchplay dimanche dernier! Il y avait un netball fantastique joué et les filles se sont rendues fières.
Ce tournoi a été une autre excellente opportunité pour nos jeunes joueurs de se rendre sur le court et de faire l’expérience de quelques matchs de compétition. L’équipe U11 qui comprenait 2 joueurs de LCV, est passée de force en force à mesure que les matchs progressaient. Nous avons vu nos nouveaux joueurs, Anna et Aimee s’épanouir et briller quand ils ont pris de nouvelles positions. Sarah et Esmé ont fait leurs preuves en changeant de rôle entre le milieu de terrain et le tir. Freya a fait un excellent travail en tant que capitaine pour la journée et a travaillé dur dans son poste de GK. Ces filles sont toutes des joueurs de netball prometteurs, c’est excitant comme un club de les voir grandir et se développer avec nous!
Beaucoup de félicitations à notre “Dream Team” U13 commandée par Mia, qui a joué son rôle avec maturité, une attitude positive et une grande organisation. Ruby et Mia ont fait un excellent travail en tant que tireurs, ils ont bien travaillé le ballon autour du cercle, ils ont bien tenu leur place et ont fait de magnifiques tirs. C’était super de voir les filles utiliser les compétences que nous avons développées dans les pratiques. Les filles ont vraiment utilisé leur taille et leurs forces et ont dominé le jeu dans le tiers offensif. Ellie, Alice et Andrea ont travaillé sans relâche dans le court central. Il y a eu de très bonnes interceptions et revirements dont nous avons pu tirer parti. Nos défenseurs, Lindsey et Julia ont fait un travail remarquable, bougeant vraiment leur jeu et montrant un blocage fantastique de leurs adversaires hors du ballon, Julia était superbe comme GD, très bien fait Julia. Lindsey était également ravie de découvrir qu’elle adore le tir! Cette équipe a joué quatre matchs et a gagné chaque match. Des résultats magnifiques, toutes les filles, les entraîneurs et les juges ont été ravis de leur performance. Ils ont certainement mérité les éloges et la reconnaissance qu’ils ont reçu de toute la communauté Swiss Netball qui les a regardés jouer.
Les U15, Catherine, Romie, Alexia et Laetitia ont joué dans une équipe de scratch avec 3 joueurs de LCV. À ce niveau, nous serons toujours confrontés à une forte opposition. Cependant, les filles deviennent de plus en plus confiantes dans leurs capacités et jouent vraiment et tiennent leur propre contre leurs adversaires. Romie, travaillait sans relâche et avec détermination en tant que Centre, ses capacités athlétiques et ses prouesses étant testées au maximum. Catherine, GK, est un match pour tout GS dans le cercle, comprendre les principes de la défense et d’exercer le rôle avec courage. Nos tireurs, Alexia et Laetitia, se sont battus pour se rapprocher de la défense contre de solides défenseurs mais ont quand même obtenu des tirs fantastiques. Bravo à eux pour leur travail. Nous étions très heureux de la performance des filles dimanche, ils ont travaillé très dur. Les filles devraient être félicités pour leur capacité à jouer dans une équipe de scratch et à tenir bon.
Une autre grande journée de netball. Le Club et toutes les filles se développent superbement. Merci à tous les parents et aux aides de la journée, nous apprécions vraiment votre soutien
