A day to remember: Wednesday 20th June 2018. Finally, after weeks of watching the rain, and postponing the work, the sun came out and it was all systems go to mark up the first public netball court in Vaud. A project we have been planning for some time now. Out came the orange paint and the court started to take shape. Mid way through, it was the school break and we had lots of interest from the students curious to know what was going on.
By lunch time the work was done, and we had our first try out on the new court with some of our club members and Heidi joined us to umpire to share this historic day for the club.
The whole event has been recorded and photographed by a professional photographer, with a video to celebrate the event, to be released shortly.
Thank you to everyone who came along on the day to support us and to join in, and especially a huge thank you to Elly who has been instrumental in making this happen. A special mention also for David from Ineos our sponsors, who came along to support us on the day.
We have already had a couple of Sunday morning sessions which have been a great success.

Une journée mémorable: mercredi 20 juin 2018. Finalement, après des semaines à regarder la pluie et à remettre les travaux à plus tard, le soleil s’est levé et c’était la turbo au max, pour baliser le premier terrain de netball public de Vaud. Un projet que nous planifions depuis longtemps. La peinture orange est sortie et le terrain a commencé à prendre forme. Pendant le matin, c’était la pause scolaire et les étudiants étaient curieux de savoir ce qui se passait.
À l’heure du déjeuner, le travail était terminé et nous avons eu notre premier essai sur le nouveau terrain avec certains membres de notre club et Heidi s’est joint à nous pour partager cette journée historique pour le club.
L’ensemble de l’événement a été enregistré et photographié par un photographe professionnel, avec une vidéo pour célébrer l’événement, qui sera diffusée tôt.
Merci à tous ceux qui sont venus ce jour-là pour nous soutenir et pour nous rejoindre, et surtout un grand merci à Elly qui a contribué énormément au succès de ce projet.. Une mention spéciale pour David de nos sponsors, Ineos, qui est venu nous soutenir le jour même.
Nous avons déjà eu quelques séances de netball du dimanche matin qui ont été un grand succès.
